On March 28, a violent earthquake struck Burma, causing heavy loss of life and property. Faced with this tragedy, GT Company decided to support the victims by making a donation to contribute to relief and reconstruction efforts.
Burma occupies an important place in GT Company’s history and activities. Some of our partners and manufacturing plants are based there, and it was also in this country that one of our very first factories was built. This historical and industrial link makes Burma a country dear to our hearts, and it is with particular emotion that we wished to support its people in this ordeal.
At GT Company, we firmly believe that business has a role to play in times of crisis. Supporting communities affected by natural disasters is not only a moral duty, it’s also a human commitment we deeply cherish.
This donation represents our desire to play an active part in the reconstruction of disaster-stricken areas, to help displaced families, and to offer a glimmer of hope to those who have to rebuild everything. We know that the road ahead will be a long one for the people of Burma, but we believe in the power of international solidarity to restore hope.
